The 1st and 2nd Workshops for Urban Resilience on the "Building Disaster and Climate Resilient Cites in ASEAN" were held on 8th and 9th December 2016 in Vientiane, Lao PDR

National and local government officials working for urban planning and disaster risk reduction (DRR) in AMS (ASEAN Member States) gathered at the workshops, and shared the knowledge of how to utilize risk assessment for building resilient cities and mainstreaming DRR in land use and development planning.

Each workshop consists of 2 parts, namely presentation from JICA Project Team (JPT) and group work by AMS.

ASEAN Urban Resilience Forum was established as a regional cross sector collaboration mechanism which enhances partnerships to increase urban resilience in ASEAN, after discussion in Concept Note 18 Project in AADMER Work Programme Phase 2
