Local government officials of each AMS in charge of disaster risk reduction and urban planning gathered in the 3rd-4th Workshop for Urban Resilience on 3 March.
National and local government officials working for urban planning and disaster risk reduction (DRR) in AMS (ASEAN Member States) gathered at the workshops, and shared the knowledge of how to utilize risk assessment for building resilient cities and mainstreaming DRR in land use and development planning.
The 1st ASEAN Urban Resilience Forum (AURF) was held in Bangkok on 28th July, 2016. Total 61participants, including delegations from 8 ASEAN member States (AMS) shared the knowledge of building disaster resilient cities in group discussion, after having inputs from JICA and UNISDR.
ASEAN Urban Resilience Forum was established as a regional cross sector collaboration mechanism which enhances partnerships to increase urban resilience in ASEAN, after discussion in Concept Note 18 Project in AADMER Work Programme Phase 2
